Remediation Methods

The resident is required to complete all rotations as specified in the goals and objectives, and to the satisfaction of the rotation chief and Residency Director. If for any reason the goals and objectives are not met the following remediation methods should be adhered to.

  1. The Residency Director should be contacted immediately upon unsatisfactory resident performance. The Rotation Director and Residency Director will meet to determine the exact nature of remediation. Remediation will include but may not be limited to the following-
  2. The resident may be required to repeat the rotation at some time during the year or after completion of his or her residency.
  3. The resident may be required to spend additional hours in the rotation at the convenience of the Rotation Director.
  4. The Rotation Director may require that the resident complete some academic task in order to fulfill the requirements of the rotation. This may include additional reading, writing a paper or researching a certain topic.
  5. The resident's certificate will not be released until the rotation is completed satisfactorily
