Harassment Policy

Policy 7.5.1

The Colorado Health Foundation prohibits verbal or physical conduct by any employee which harasses, disrupts or interferes with another's work performance or which creates an intimidating, offensive or hostile work environment.

7.5.2

While all forms of harassment are prohibited, it is the company's policy to emphasize that racial and sexual harassment are specifically prohibited. Each supervisor has a responsibility to maintain the workplace free of any form of racial or sexual harassment.

7.5.3

No supervisor shall threaten or insinuate, either explicitly or implicitly, that an employee's refusal to submit to sexual advances shall adversely affect the employee's employment, evaluation, wages, advancement, assigned duties, shifts or any other condition of employment or career development.

7.5.4

Other sexual or racial harassment in the workplace, whether committed by supervisors, non-supervisory personnel or any other persons, is also prohibited. Such harassment may include but not be limited to:

  • physical or verbal conduct of a racial or sexual nature;
  • a hostile environment which includes jokes, vulgar comments and the display in the workplace of suggestive comments, objects or pictures including photographs or nude persons;
  • sexual flirtations, unwelcome touching, advances or requests for sexual favors;
  • graphic or suggestive comments about an individual's dress or body;
  • sexually or racial degrading words.

7.5.5

Any employee who believes that the actions or words of a supervisor, fellow employee or other person in the workplace constitute harassment has a responsibility to report as soon as possible to the supervisor or to the Director of Human Resources. If a supervisor is contacted, he or she should contact the Director of Human Resources as soon as possible. It is the responsibility of the Director of Human Resources to coordinate an investigation and assure appropriate action is taken.
